This week the police in the Brazilian Postage Allegre had prevented some attacks by neonazi's. With some arrests the police prevented attacks on jews on gays.
the Police spokesman Paulo Cesar Jardim says that his agents arrested 14 men and confiscated Nazi literature, knives and 3 explosives.
The 14 belonged to a group that calls themselfs 'Neuland' according Jardim.
This group is founded in 2002 by Brazilians and a couple of foreigners, the group with about 50 members is well organized. Their victims were Jews and Gays.
Recent Brazilian research teaches us that 99 % of the inhabitants of the South
American country have prejudices against homosexuals. The Brazilian gay organization
Grupo Gay da Bahia (GGB) said last month that the number of gay murders Brazil
has grown with 50% over the last year. In 2007 there were 122 victims, the last
year 190 victims didnot survive their attacks. almost 66% of the victims are
gay men, 30% is transvestite and about 4 precent is lesbian. According the GGB
have since 1980 almost 3000 gays been murdered and nowhere in the world, in
absolute numbers, more gay murders took place then in Brazil.
