1st of December world aids day, world wide loads of events, benefit concerts and many different fundraisings will happen. The yearly tradition of where loads of drag queens will appear on the main square in the Yumbo to collect in a big group around all terraces and bars to collect money for the local friends against aids organisation. A.C.E.S.
This year no 30 no 40 queens appearing on the square but just a 6 head counted people dressed up.
In fabulous outfits for the yearly charity event. Even though it was sad to see just a few try to support this traditional yumbo event we heard from several people they didn’t know anything about who,what,where and when. The organisation wasn’t that great this time so let’s hope for better next year.

However with a small group of people together with the candle and ribbon sale on the main square the night was good for 1800 euro. Thanks to all the people who putted some money in the tins, money which can be used to continue helping since 10 years loads of local and tourist people in the fight against aids and those who need help, information or meds to stay alive.
Amigos Contra El Sida existing because of gifts and volunteers who spreading free condoms around all the gay bars and bungalow complexes.
So if someone love to join the group of drag queens next year point in your agenda 1dec. 2010 as the day where you can support a good cause. Off course some donations in the tins of each bar in the yumbo are welcome aswell … together with you we all can help to fight against AIDS and HIV
