Do we need to say bye to the good old days at kiosk 7? Also know as the Gay
Beach of Maspalomas ?
The weather of this last weeks with heavy rains and winds affected many beauty
spots. Off course every plant need some water and the panoramic views from the
mountains will, for the next weeks, be exceptionnal . But heavy rain falls first
destroyed some roads and while the water needs to find its way to the sea, the
valleys were overfloawing and the natural bay in the dunes filled up.
The lake couldn’t handle that much water and within a couple of hours
it broke open into the sea.
Also, the dunes of maspalomas are in trouble, the beaches have been washed away
by the enormous waves. The kiosks where we all had great time seems now to be
at sea.
Hopefully the weather will soon change in order to stop further damage. As,
we gay people are not able to participate in a water ballet while sipping our
very well deserved vodka-coke.
Something really needs to happen. Surely natives will do everything in their
power to save the beach for all to enjoy. Let’s hope we all can enjoy
the beach at kiosk no.7 as soon as the weather is back to a 24/7 of summer time.
