Marcel and David, better known as the Guapo boys due to their successfull magazine, have now partnered with "the belgium gang" in taking over XL men's club by opening Amigos bar.

This is your Holiday Party Bar in the Yumbo with several wide screen showing the latest music video, combined with a warm, relaxing decor make it the perfect party lounge. Whever you want to party the night away, enjoy a drink with friends or chill out after work with great background sounds, Amigos accomodate all.

From 22.00, soak up the atmosphere on the terrace over looking the whole Yumbo, then at 3.00, you'll be invited to continue the partying inside untill 6.00.

Babylon

Holland and Belgium came together to take over XL men's club.
Sebastien, Mattia and Frederic are belgiums who use to holliday regularly in playa del ingles and enjoy partying the night away in the Yumbo.They already own several night life clubs, bars in Charleroi but wanted to share their passion within sunny Gran Canaria.

Marcel passes away

Some sad news arrived during the carnival. Marcel passed away on Friday the 19th of March 2010.

Marcel a lovely friendly person who together with his partner Peter had a successful business gaybed.info and also owned radio regenbogen here on Gran Canaria, over.

Drag Queen Maniaaaaa

Carnival maspalomas was this year themed Eurovision. The stage looked amazing, the shows were remarkable and unforgettable.

The most popular was off course the gala drag-queen which became in the last couple of years a real cultural event. Thousands of people came and watched this incredible show.

Where are the Dunes

Do we need to say bye to the good old days at kiosk 7? Also know as the Gay Beach of Maspalomas ?

The weather of this last weeks with heavy rains and winds affected many beauty spots. Off course every plant need some water and the panoramic views from the mountains will, for the next weeks, be exceptionnal . But heavy rain falls first destroyed some roads and while the water needs to find its way to the sea, the valleys were overfloawing and the natural bay in the dunes filled up.

The story of El Paso

First, let me introduce ourselves,Vidas and Darius, together for over 11 years, moved to Gran Canaria 3 months ago from lreland, but originated from Lithuania.

We're fluent in Lithuanian (which is not a dialect of Russian or Slavic as so many think, but a beautiful language on its own), English and Russian but not much Spanish yet... We spent few happy holidays here and as many of you who emigrated will know, the main reason is the mild climate, beautiful beaches and of course the gay life style..

Unforgetable Gala drag queen

For this night, full of entertainment, guys in incredible costumes, bare asses wiggling around on platform heels, thousand of people waited all year to get tickets to enter .

A big show opened the festivities and 16 head counted drag queens waited to get their few minutes of fame at dazzling the crowd with their act on the amazing huge stage.

Benji From Great Britain to Gran Canaria with Pride.

Benji is a vocalist and performer who works in the UK, and his first time in Gran Canaria has proven to be a bit of an adventure!

He travelled to the island in search of his sponsorship for Pride: each of the artists appearing on the main stage for the Friday evening of Maspalomas Pride is sponsored by local venues.

It’s amazing to see how the contesters use their creativity in their costumes, with enormous heels and make-up like you’ve never seen before. The 10th of February the pre-selection on the carnival main stage is attracting thousands of people. All waiting to see who is going to be in the finals, 2 days later on the 12th. Try to get a entrée ticket because this show is absolute a must seen show.

Restaurant Facecook

The tasty food in the new restaurant Facecook im C.C. Yumbo, Planta 2, can be summarized as NATURAL, FRESH and INTERNATIONAL. Influences of the Thai, German, Spanish and Canary kitchen are the base of the varied menu. Of course, vegetarian come to their cost, too.

Inspired of the many possibilities the internet offers, the facecook allows you to look deeply into the pot. The preparation and serving of ordered meals can be watched on the Internet and on the two screens in the restaurant.

Whitney Houston in Tenerife

The 30th of april 2010 miss Whitney Houston will comes to the canary island to perform her comeback concert range ‘ I look to you’ the newest hit album brings Whitney back on a world tour.

1st of December world aids day, world wide loads of events, benefit concerts and many different fundraisings will happen. The yearly tradition of where loads of drag queens will appear on the main square in the Yumbo to collect in a big group around all terraces and bars to collect money for the local friends against aids organisation. A.C.E.S.

This year no 30 no 40 queens appearing on the square but just a 6 head counted people dressed up.
In fabulous outfits for the yearly charity event. Even though it was sad to see just a few try to support this traditional yumbo event we heard from several people they didn’t know anything about who,what,where and when. The organisation wasn’t that great this time so let’s hope for better next year.

10 years Dalis

This month exactly 10 years ago Dali’s restaurant opened his doors.
Gery & Wolfie where opened this place to make to a success and they succeed. Nowadays Dali’s is marked as one of the best restaurants of the south of Gran Canaria.

Tony from Bar Hollywood passed away

The yumbo has united in the memory of tony eade who passed away on sunday the 8th november 2009.

The centre has presented several tribute shows in his honour. Better known for his drag persona "olive green" tony part owner of hollywood, was one of the characters of the centre.

La Bulle

Lots is going on in Yumbo centre lately, new venues opening change of ownerships.

But not many make such a big difference as la Bulle had done. On the groundfloor in the Yumbo where first was the Warsteiner Ecke, now raised a new terrace bar ‘ la Bulle’.

Du und Ich (Tu y Yo)

Last month Sunday the 15th of November On a 3 minutes walking distance from the Yumbo centre Günter also know from ‘construction bar ‘and ‘the box’ opened his own bar together with his boyfriend Tobias who is also well know from ‘Macho Macho’ and ‘Bei lelo’ restaurant in the hearth of ‘Sandia Centre.’

1 December Drags for A.C.E.S.

Like every year on the first of December (Wolrd AIDS day), there will be many Drags in the Yumbo centre, to collect money for the local friends against AIDS organisation (A.C.E.S.)The start will be around 22:00 on the square in Yumbo (ground floor)

Jackies bar 4 years

The one and only lesbian bar in the yumbo where boys and girls join each other for a nice drink, laugh and chat with Jackie and Carol. 4 years open and the celebration was a hug success, loads of people made it quite difficult to enter the bar and order a drink. A nice performance of Asa and Missee entertained the people by familiar song. Tania the shot queen of the night totally silver body painted served every single client a nice shot.
